New River to the inlet is the Fort Lauderdale run that looks short on a phone and long under steel. The graph walks seaward from downtown: SE 3rd Avenue first as an air-draft gate, then the east reach, then 17th Street if you join the ICW, then Port Everglades. Depth on the stem is about eight feet. That is not the story. Sixteen feet closed is.

We compute this route from the downtown overlay coordinates against Dijkstra-to-inlet in the waterway graph. Ordered obstacles typically include SE 3rd Avenue (~16 ft), then Andrews if you started west, then the ICW spans only after you leave the river mouth. First shoal on a Victoria Park start is the 4.5 ft lateral — do not start there. Map deep link uses the downtown lat/lng. Approximate seed geometry, not a NOAA voyage plan.

Typical planning figures and neighborhood patterns only. Not legal, tax, insurance, or survey advice. Confirm with counsel, the city, the carrier, and a surveyor before you act.

How far is it?

On the order of a few nautical miles on the graph; the time is bridge openings, not distance.
