SE 3rd Avenue Bridge: 16 ft closed on the New River
Clearance (approx.)
Controlling depth (approx.)
Map trace
- tuna-tower convertibles
- flybridge motoryachts
- raised radar-arch motoryachts
SE 3rd Avenue is the New River’s honest filter. Closed clearance is about sixteen feet. That is not a puzzle for a Princess Y72 or a Viking with a tuna tower. It is a closed door. Center consoles with a T-top, some expresses, and motoryachts drawn specifically low can discuss a downtown berth. Everyone else is shopping Harbor Beach and calling the river a transit.
Obstacle 5 in the waterway graph sits on the east reach before US 1. Victoria Park laterals inherit this number plus a 4.5-foot shoal — a double crimson. Downtown New River has the depth (about eight feet on the stem) and not the air. Owners who want Las Olas restaurants at the passerelle usually mean a tender, not a flybridge under this span. Trace from New River downtown on the map: first serious air-draft kill is here, then Andrews, then the FEC railroad at about four feet if anyone is still pretending. Approximate public figure, not legal clearance.
